The Bridge Management System introduced in the Department of Roads since 2012/13 generates a list of the potential bridge projects for new construction, major maintenance (rehabilitation) needsand minor maintenance requirements.DoRregards BMS as a planning tool to determine short to long term investment in SRN bridges projects. The prioritized list generated by the BMS should be sufficient to replace pre-feasibility activity.

To provide preliminary information on various aspects including technical, social, environmental, cost and benefits, requirements of institutional setup for the potential bridge projects, theexecution offeasibility studiesis suggested.
