1.PLANNING, BUDGETING AND APPROVAL, ANNUAL ROAD MAINTENANCE PLAN (ARMP)

The demand for bridges,on road links that are recently opened or upgraded to bituminous standard, is significant in terms of the volume of work and the funds required. In order to prioritize those needs, DoR has recently introduced the Bridge Management System (BMS) as a planning tool. BMS prioritizes the needs on a set of multi-criteria including government policies, road classification, traffic volume, road closure duration, population served, etc. BMS not only generates a priority list for new bridges, it also generates priority lists for major and minor maintenance in accordance with condition data provided and entered.
