Step 1: Bridge Inventory Record

A Bridge Inventory record should be prepared once a bridge is completed and handed-over to the DoR. This contains information on details of the bridge structure such as bridge number, location information, size and number of spans, type of bridge, construction details etc. The Bridge Inventory Record provides the basic bridge data for establishing a bridge inspection program. It could be in the form of a Bridge Inventory Record Card or in digital form recently developed for the Bridge Management System in DoR, refer ▬►[Guidelines for Inspection and Maintenance of Bridges Volume-1, Part -2, Bridge Inspection Manual; see an example of Bridge Inventory Record Chard . ]
