Step 2: Mitigation Measures

Once relevant environmental issues are identified including their degree of impacts, mitigation measures should be integrated in the design of project itself. The work quantity (to possible extent) should be incorporated in Bill of Quantities (BoQ) (an example given below), design drawings (to possible extent), specifications (an example given below) and conditions of contract to reduce / nullify or avoid adverse effects of such issues. All proposed mitigation measures shall follow the established Environmental Code of Practice/ESMF/Standard Specification for Roads and Bridges. GESU/DoR shall also review design, BoQ, specification specific to environmental aspects before approval being granted to the design by the DoR refer ▬►Box2.4: Environmental and Social Safeguard and Mitigation Measures must be included, Ch.-2 ESMF/GESU/DoR, ▬►Table 2.13: General Environmental Codes of Practice for the SRN Program.
