Major Maintenance Works - Bridges
Major Maintenance Works
includes numerous defects of structural and hydraulic significance which may
soon prevent the bridge in its proper functioning. These defects require detail
investigation and, design and cost estimation.
These include all or some of the minor maintenance works plus major
repair/replacement of slabs/railings, bearings, piers, painting and replacement
of steel members, greasing, covering of cables, changing of deck materials and
tightening or replacing bolt , inspection of anchoring system etc of suspension
/cable –stayed bridge, bed and bank
protection works(river training ) costing more than 0.3million rupees -selected at Regional level only
Guidance:
- Provide rationale of required work (assessment, special report, photos etc.)
- Provide priority list generated by the BMS for major maintenance works
- Any major works programme for bridges that is ongoing, the Division must identify the funding already received, the funding required for the coming fiscal year.
- Discussion with Regional Directors at ARMP Regional workshop concerning necessity of work
- Detailed estimate per job and programme per road link
- Summary estimate per link as per table below
- Include Annual Works Programme
- Include rate analysis in the Annex to this document
